Our Process

Cosima is proudly crafted in sunny Southern California and made with high-quality natural fabrics that are digitally printed using OEKO-TEX® certified inks. We pledge to always do our research, source mindfully, and take small but meaningful steps to evolve into the most earth-conscious brand we can be. Our mission is to preserve and enjoy the beauty that surrounds us while supporting the producers, suppliers and other brands who also share this commitment.
Canvas to Fabric

Canvas to Fabric

The original artwork is done by my mom & stepdad. All the beautiful printed fabrics originate from them. When building a collection, I either find a piece of art that they have done, or I commission them to paint something special just for Cosima.

Their canvases inspire me so much, as does travel, nature, and music. The big ideas I'm dreaming about combine with the feel of their artwork, and I start sketching silhouettes that reflect this. It's a little like a cool art/fashion film that's always running in my mind!

Attention to detail

Once I've mapped out the big picture, I design the entire collection and continue to revisit my sketches again and again and refine until it feels as cohesive and artful as possible.

When my sketches for the collection are complete, I meet with my pattern maker while simultaneously working with my graphic artists to help transition the print from canvas to fabric.

I have made it a point to only work with the best pattern makers and sewers in Los Angeles. This helps me achieve a particular fit to my pieces that's feminine and flattering. The attention to detail and beautiful sewing quality means that a Cosima piece can be loved and worn for many seasons.

Flattering & Feminine

Flattering & Feminine

My dream is to create clothes that are feminine, flattering, & fun for all women. I love to add unexpected details like vintage buttons or rows of contrast stitching. I want each woman that wears my designs to feel confident and free.

OEKO-TEX Fabrics

I use fabrics of natural fibers and inks that are OEKO-TEX certified. There is a HUGE difference between OEKO-TEX and organic certifications. Organic only focuses on where the raw materials come from. Where as, OEKO-TEX is about how everything is processed from start to finish, including the dye and color finishes. OEKO-TEX means the product is free of dangerous chemicals and are safe for use.
